Watch: Olympic flame being lit in Greece’s ancient Olympia

Image caption: A rehearsal was held on MondayIt’s nearly 100 days to go until the start of the Paris 2024 Olympic Games and the Olympic flame is about to be lit.

The ceremony, which was rehearsed on Monday, is taking place in Greece’s ancient Olympia, where the first Olympic Games where held in 776 BC.

It’s being presided over by Greek President Katerina Sakellaropoulou and International Olympic Committee President Thomas Bach.

It will feature the Greek and French national anthems and flags raised, a dance and music performance and the handing over of the Olympic flame to the first torchbearer – gold medallist in rowing at the Tokyo 2020 Olympics, Stefanos Douskos.
