So it was no surprise that Venus was recently taken aback after witnessing one of their doubles matches at their home major tournament in New York.

In the latest video on her YouTube channel, the American tennis icon issued her honest take on the 1997 US Open doubles first-round match with her younger sister. She said, “We are going to do this really cool reaction video on Serena and I playing doubles at the US Open, and when I saw the video I was simply shocked I couldn’t believe what a good doubles team we were I looked at it and I was like, ‘What…?’”

As she was ‘simply shocked’ after witnessing their US Open match, Venus also labeled Serena and herself as ‘partners and champions in doubles.’ The 5-time singles Wimbledon champion stated, “So I thought it would be a fun reaction video to do so you can kind of see my reaction to like our wonderful past as partners and champions in doubles.”
