The 2024 NCAA Women’s Basketball Tournament bracket was released on Sunday, featuring a potential rematch of last year’s title game.

In the Albany 2 region, Iowa earned the No. 1 seed while LSU took the No. 3 seed. If both teams are able to advance to the Elite Eight, they would face off against each other for a spot in the Final Four.

Caitlin Clark wrapped up an incredible regular season, cementing her status as the NCAA men’s and women’s all-time leading scorer. She’ll likely be looking for some revenge, while the Tigers are hoping to earn consecutive national championships. They’re once again led by Angel Reese, who averaged 19.0 points and 13.1 rebounds per game in 29 starts.

Fans were excited by the possibility of another high-stakes clash between the two stars.

The region also features UCLA as the No. 2 seed, with the Bruins coming off an impressive 25-6 record under head coach Cori Close. It isn’t difficult to imagine the team spoiling a potential matchup between Iowa and LSU.

Reese and Clark made headlines during the 2023 title game after some taunting, although there doesn’t appear to be any lingering animosity between the two. In fact, Reese made it clear last year that there was no beef. She also congratulated the Hawkeyes guard for breaking the NCAA women’s basketball scoring record on Feb. 15.

However, the on-court rivalry could certainly return if both teams advance to the Elite Eight.
