West Ham are willing to break the bank for Super Eagles striker Victor Boniface

Boniface has been superb for Bayer Leverkusen this season, and West Ham are looking to acquire his services

English Premier League club West Ham are interested in signing Super Eagles striker Victor Boniface in the next transfer window, Soccernet.ng reports.

Boniface joined German Bundesliga club Bayer Leverkusen from Belgian side Royale Union SG last summer, and the Nigerian striker has been impressive. He has registered ten goals and seven assists in 16 appearances for Die Werkself, helping them maintain their spot at the summit of the Bundesliga.

Boniface’s performance has attracted eyes from clubs abroad, and he would be a considerably affordable option.

One of Boniface’s admirers is Premier League side West Ham. According to Transfer News Live, the Hammers are willing to break the bank to sign Boniface.

West Ham’s most expensive signing is Sébastien Haller, who joined the club in 2019. He signed for the club for €50 million, but he later left for Ajax two seasons later after failing to impress.

Meanwhile, Boniface’s current market value per Transfermarkt is €40 million. Still, Bayer Leverkusen would surely demand more than that from clubs that are interested in signing him, especially if they win the Bundesliga at the end of the season.

However, Boniface may not be interested in a move to West Ham, as he is a big fan of the Spanish Laliga. Still, a transfer to the Premier League is not out of the cards.

The 23-year-old striker is currently recovering from surgery to correct a muscle injury. He should be back in action by March.
