Alex Bregman had to wait until mid-February to sign a three-year, $120 million contract with Boston. In the early going, Bregman is quickly validating the organization’s decision. The two-time All-Star entered play on Wednesday hitting .302 with an .897 OPS, leading the team with 19 RBI. 

Cleveland is certainly used to receiving stellar play from its third baseman, and six-time All-Star Jose Ramirez is off to another fine start. Entering play on Wednesday, the slugging Ramirez had five home runs and an .823 OPS, once again the engine in the Guardians’ lineup. 

Friday’s pitching matchup will feature a couple of right-handers, as Tanner Houck faces off against Ben Lively. Houck is coming off six innings of two-run ball against the White Sox on Sunday, while Lively blanked the Pirates across 5.1 innings last Saturday.
