What channel is Panthers vs. Oilers on today? Time, schedule, live stream for Game 2 of 2024 Stanley Cup Final series
The Panthers are now three games away from their first Stanley Cup in team history after taking Game 1, 3-0, on Saturday night.
The shutout was a big showing for goalkeeper Sergei Bobrovsky, who made 32 saves while becoming the first goalie to post a shutout in Game 1 of the Stanley Cup Final in 13 years. Pushing 36, he is the first goaltender to win a game in the Final at age 35 or older since Martin Brodeur did so with the New Jersey Devils in 2012.
Florida got things going with a score from Carter Verhaeghe, who netted his 10th goal of this postseason at the 3:59 mark in the first period. Evan Rodrigues and Eetu Luostarinen put the finishing touches on things to give the Panthers a significant victory from a historical standpoint; the winner of Game 1 has fared well in the Final, going 64-20 all-time.Â
The Oilers will be looking to even things up as they find themselves trailing after Game 1 for the second time this postseason. A major key will be an improved performance from All-Star Connor McDavid, who was held without a point for the first time in five games on Saturday night.
