What Club Brugge boss said about Onyedika’s potential summer transfer exit

Club Brugge manager Nicky Hayen has hinted at the possible summer transfer exit of Super Eagles midfielder Raphael Onyedika, Soccernet.ng reports.

The former Midtjylland player has piqued the interest of numerous European and Saudi Arabian clubs eager to add the Nigerian international to their squads for the upcoming season.

Hayen suggested that Onyedika could be allowed to leave the club for a significant sum this summer, estimating the chances of his departure as high.

“Onyedika was a bit sick last week and is still not 100 percent fit. But he has already shown what value he has for the team. So I hope we can enjoy that for a while,” Hayen said, as quoted by Voetbalkrant.

Crystal Palace are keen to bolster their midfield and have been linked with Leicester City’s defensive midfielder Wilfred Ndidi, who recently signed a contract extension with the Foxes.

Soccernet.ng earlier reported that Crystal Palace has also added Club Brugge’s defensive midfielder Onyedika to their transfer list for the upcoming summer window, impressed by his recent performances.

According to The Sun, Crystal Palace is closely monitoring Onyedika’s situation in Belgium, with their sporting director Dougie Freedman reportedly scouting him personally. The scouts are said to be convinced of his abilities.

Club Brugge has set a desired fee of at least 15 million euros for Onyedika, with some sources suggesting a figure as high as 20 million pounds, approximately 23 million euros—around 26 billion naira.
