What In The Merch?! Social Media Sounds OFF After Trump Organization Reveals $499 Phone & Mobile Plan
Chile, the Trump Organization said âconflict of interest,â WHERE? Despite concerns about the familyâs business moves while Donald is in office, theyâve announced their latest venture: Trump Mobile. The Trump family is licensing its name to a new mobile phone service, offering a smartphone for $499 and a monthly plan.

Eric Trump, who runs the Trump Organization on his fatherâs behalf, announced the new moneymaker on Monday (June 16). He said on Monday that consumers deserve a phone that aligns with their values.
âHard-working Americans deserve a wireless service thatâs affordable, reflects their values, and delivers reliable quality they can count on,â Eric said.
In a media interview, Eric Trump emphasized that âeventuallyâ all of Trump Mobileâs phones will be built in the U.S. to âbring manufacturing back.â So, itâs unclear whether the company will commission the first drop later this year in or out of the United States. However, a Trump Organization spokesman told The Wall Street Journal, âmanufacturing for the new phone will be in Alabama, California, and Florida.â
What To Know About Trump Mobileâs Smartphone
The new, gold-colored T1 Phone will be available in August. T1 Mobile will also maintain a call center in the U.S., specifically St. Louis, Missouri. However, President Trump and Trump Mobile wonât be involved in building or designing the phone itself. Another U.S.-based company will allegedly take on those tasks.
The monthly service offer, called The 47 Plan, and the monthly fee of $47.45 refer to Trumpâs two terms, the 45th and the 47th. The service will include unlimited calls, texts, and data, free roadside assistance, and telehealth services. It will feature the Android operating system. A smartphone mock-up on the companyâs website shows Trumpâs slogan âMake America Greatâ on the front and an etched American flag on the back.
Why Is Social Media Going Off About This?Â
As mentioned, social media users have been popping off about the announcement. In The Shade Roomâs comment section, over 3,000 reactions lit up the comment section. The smartphone is also trending on X, formerly Twitter, and Instagramâs platform, Threads.

Trump is pushing tariffs that can raise prices on iPhones and other smartphones, and then turns around and promotes his own Trump Phone. So, using the presidency to potentially jack up competitorsâ costs while hawking your own product? Got it. https://t.co/1vfiztAQxa

These grifting, morally bankrupt motherfuckers will do absolutely anything to make a penny. Listen to Trump crime family member Eric Trump admit that ZERO of Trump Mobile’s phones will be made in the USA. NOT. FUCKING. ONE. đđ€Łđđ€Łđđ€Łđ pic.twitter.com/EPvKcR7bc7

My friend just bought a Trump Mobile phone. It only allows you to text in CAPS, the payment has to be made out to cash, the spell check misspells every word, and Siri is Laura Loomer. pic.twitter.com/OJFRs6xUAl

By sticking to licensing, the Trump family is limiting its risk. Still, there are concerns about how federal regulators will react to the mobile carriers Trump Mobile is partnering with to provide 5G network access. Eric Trump revealed that the venture partners are Americaâs three biggest mobile network providers. He seemed to be referencing Verizon, AT&T, and T-Mobile.
On the flip side, Trump Mobile will enter a highly competitive market that includes companies President Donald Trump has directly attacked. For example, Trump blasted Apple last month because it planned to make most of its U.S. iPhones in India. The president threatened to slap a 25% tariff on the devices unless the tech giant starts building the phones in the U.S.
Speaking of threats, there is concern about how President Donald Trump might react to dissatisfaction with the new venture or local competition. The president has already used the federal government to reward his allies and punish his enemies. For example, the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) has already launched investigations of media outlets Trump dislikes, including some heâs personally suing. The FCC is the primary regulatory body overseeing mobile phone companies.
Trump & His Organization Have Been Cashing IN On His Celebrity
The Trump Organizationâs phone deal comes as a mandatory financial disclosure report revealed how the president has been profiting from his celebrity in the last year. Heâs earned $3 million from selling âSave Americaâ coffee table books, $2.8 million from Trump watches, and $2.5 million from Trump-branded sneakers and fragrances.
Personal gain aside, the presidentâs organization announced Trump Mobile after locking in several real estate deals in April. The agreement includes towers and resorts in the Middle East, including a golf development in Qatar. Meanwhile, a $1.5 billion partnership to build golf courses, hotels, and real estate projects in Vietnam was approved last month. We should note that the deal was in the works before Donald Trump was elected.
A recent financial disclosure report reveals President Donald Trump made over $57 million last year from World Liberty Financial. Itâs a crypto company he and his sons helped launch in September 2024.
