What to Watch the Week of August 4: House of the Dragon’s Season 2 Finale and the 9 Questions We Need Answers To

With that said, my hope is that all your questions get answered as you count down the months (or, perhaps years) until season three premieres.

In other news that’s much more up my alley, a new episode of The Bachelorette airs tonight following last week’s surprise visit from Jenn’s ex. While I can’t wait to see how Thomas is going to react to that news, I’m more excited to see Jenn and the guys explore the remote parts of New Zealand. It’s truly a stunning country, and my side trips to Waiheke Island and Hobbiton, which take a little bit of effort to get to, were all worth it. Take a look:

On that note, the Olympics kick off their second full week of competition, as track and field finally gets underway. For more on what to expect each night, check out each section below, and I’ll see you back here next Sunday to preview the fourth season of Netflix’s Emily in Paris. Oui!

Sunday, August 4Summer Olympics (NBC): In gymnastics, the finals of the women’s uneven bars, the men’s rings, and the men’s vault happen today; in swimming, the women face off in the 50-meter freestyle final, while men compete in the 1,500-meter freestyle final. Also, track and field. All day on NBC, Peacock, E!, USA, and more

House of the Dragon (HBO/Max): The finale is here. No additional information is available ahead of its airing. So for now, find out what to expect in season three with our guide. 9 p.m. ET/8 p.m. CT and streaming on Max

Monday, August 5Summer Olympics (NBC): The women’s gymnastics balance beam and floor exercise finals, plus track and field. All day on NBC, Peacock, E!, USA and more

The Bachelorette (ABC): After an unexpected visit from ex-boyfriend Matthew, Jenn has to decide whether she invites him to join the show, runs off into the sunset with him, or tells him to take a hike. My guess is the first option. Then, once the rose ceremony happens, Jenn and the guys head to New Zealand’s picturesque countryside for a week in which they’ll visit a sheep farm, among other things. Later, one man drops some shocking news that leaves Jenn questioning everything. (And here we thought last week was shocking.) 8 p.m. ET/PT, 7 p.m. CT, and streaming the next day on Hulu

Tuesday, August 6Summer Olympics (NBC): In track and field, the women’s 400-meter hurdles semifinals and the 200-meter sprint final take place, but if you’d rather watch pool activities, then you’re in luck, because the women’s 10-meter platform diving final gets underway. All day on NBC, Peacock, E!, USA and more

Wednesday, August 7Summer Olympics (NBC): The women’s pole vault final, semifinals in the men’s 100-meter and 400-meter hurdles, and more. All day on NBC, Peacock, E!, USA and more
