UConn’s 13-game winning streak and lead in the Big East is on the line this afternoon against another top-five opponent – Marquette.

The Golden Eagles are on a solid eight-game winning streak themselves but sit 2.5 backs back of the Huskies in the conference. A win for either side would either widen or narrow the gap between the two ahead of the Big East tournament in March.

The Huskies took down DePaul by 36 points this past Wednesday, while the Golden Eagles eked out a six-point game against Butler this past Tuesday.

UConn’s guard duo of Cam Spencer and Tristen Newton continue to lead the Huskies. Spencer averages 15.2 points and 4.6 rebounds per game, while Newton scores 15.0 points and leads the team with 6.7 rebounds and 5.7 assists per game.

Marquette has two solid guards as well with Tyler Kolek and Kam Jones. Kolek scored 27 points in back-to-back contests for the Golden Eagles and averages a team-high 16.1 points and 7.4 assists per game, while Jones adds 14.3 points per game. Forward Oso Ighodaro leads Marquette down low with 14.3 points and 7.5 rebounds per game.
