Whew! Prosecutors Accuse Diddy Of Using Family Members To Try To Obstruct Justice From Jail

Prosecutors are keeping their feet on Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs’ neck ahead of his sex trafficking and racketeering trial. A new court filing accuses the producer of attempting to contact witnesses and influence public opinion from behind bars, per the Associated Press. The allegations come amid Combs’ continued requests for bail.

Recap Of New Court Filing Against Diddy
AP News reports that prosecutors submitted the new paperwork late Friday (Nov. 15) in a Manhattan federal court. It contains redactions but primarily argues against Diddy’s latest $50 million bail proposal. By the way, the proposal will get its day in court next week. For now, Diddy has been held at the Brooklyn Metro Detention Center since his arrest in September.

As for the alleged obstruction, prosecutors say they have recorded jail calls from Combs to family members. In these alleged calls, Diddy reportedly asked family members to reach out to potential victims and witnesses. Additionally, the filing claims that Combs asked his family to create “narratives” to influence the jury pool and recommended strategies to help his tainted public image. Note that his trial isn’t set to begin until May 5, 2025.

“The defendant has shown repeatedly — even while in custody — that he will flagrantly and repeatedly flout rules in order to improperly impact the outcome of his case. The defendant has shown, in other words, that he cannot be trusted to abide by rules or conditions,” the prosecutors’ filing states.

Prosecutors Claim Sean Combs Is Using His Family Members In THIS Way
Moreover, prosecutors are implying that Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs is moving with the intention of blackmailing victims and witnesses into staying quiet or testimony that works in his favor. They also claim that Combs has been breaking the rules since he got to Brooklyn-MDC.

For example, the new filing from prosecutors specifically names the birthday celebration Diddy’s kids shared on social media. The disgraced hip-hop mogul turned 55 years old on Nov. 4. That same day, Justin Combs shared footage of him, Quincy, Jessie, D’Lila, Christian, and Baby Love wishing Diddy a happy birthday via phone. Combs’ daughter Chance was also included in the video, but she spoke to her dad via speakerphone from another cell phone. “I love y’all so much.
I can’t wait to see y’all
and I just want to say I’m proud of y’all — especially the girls, I mean all of y’all. Just for being strong. Thank y’all for being strong, and thank y’all for being by my side and supporting me. I love y’all. I got the best family in the world,” Diddy said in response at the time.

Well, prosecutors are claiming the post wasn’t genuine, but a social media campaign shared with “the intention of influencing the potential jury.” They allege that Combs encouraged his kids to film and post the moment. Also, prosecutors accuse Combs of monitoring the post’s analytics from jail.

“
[Sean Combs] explicitly discussed with his family how to ensure that the video had his desired effect on potential jury members in this case,” the new court filing reportedly states.

Furthermore, prosecutors say that Combs has also made phone calls to anonymously publish information that favors his case. “The defendant’s efforts to obstruct the integrity of this proceeding also includes relentless efforts to contact potential witnesses, including victims of his abuse who could provide powerful testimony against him,” prosecutors allege.

Meanwhile, Quincy Brown and his biological dad, Al B. Sure!, have been a recent topic on social media. Al addressed speculations that his son shaded him with a death anniversary tribute to Kim Porter. In addition to clearing the air, he also threw some shade of his own at Diddy.
