Rich Lerner and Dan Hicks will be the play-by-play commentators, helping you follow all the action. Hicks has been a sportscaster for NBC since 1992 and has covered various sports in his time. His most iconic moment as a sportscaster has to be during the men’s 4×100 freestyle relay at the 2008 Summer Olympics, as he announced the USA’s come-from-behind win over France. He also hosted The Olympic Show on CNBC. Hicks has also called every Presidents Cup since 2000.

Lerner is also a mainstay in CNBC, having joined GOLF channel way back in 1997. He might be a familiar voice for many fans, with him also giving play-by-play commentary during the PGA Tour. He also hosts Golf Central and Golf Central Live From, the latter being a news program that airs on-site from the biggest golfing events.

Curt Byrum, a former pro himself, will be providing analysis for the holes. An experienced campaigner with more than 15 years as a pro, he will play an important part in fans understanding the demands and nuances of the various holes in the course. Having joined the GOLF Channel in 2001, Burym was an analyst and on-course reporter for the channel’s coverage of the PGA Tour.

Reporters for the 2024 Presidents CupGet closer to the action with the on-course reporting team of Notah Begay III, Smylie Kaufman, Jim “Bones” Mackay, and John Wood. Begay has the distinction of being one of the few Native American golfers to play at the highest level, with 4 PGA Tour wins to his name. Kaufman is now a recognizable voice in the world of golf, thanks to his podcast, The Smylie Show.

“Bones” Mackay was famously the caddie for Phil Mickelson, a position that he relinquished recently in 2024. He is part of the broadcast team for NBC Sports/Golf Channel’s coverage of the U.S. Open. He was also the lead analyst for the Tour’s Mexico Open, becoming the first caddie to do so. He has also caddied or commentated on every Presidents Cup ever held, which in itself is a remarkable feat showing his longevity.

John Wood is another famous caddie with a stellar reputation. With over 2 decades worth of experience, he has worked with the likes of Matt Kuchar, Hunter Mahan, and Mark Calcavecchia. After retiring as a caddie, Wood went on to join NBC Sports and Golf Channel where he initially worked as a reporter.

Analysts and studio hostsBrad Faxon, Paul McGinley, Brandel Chamblee, and Notah Begay III will be providing their insight as analysts. All 4 have immense pedigree and are experienced analysts in their own right, with Chamblee being the one with the hot takes in general.

Faxon needs no introduction as an 8 time PGA Tour winner. He was also the putting coach for Rory McIlroy. He also appears as an analyst on Golf Central and Golf Central Live. He also worked as a hole commentator for NBC Sports in 2010 and got the role of studio analyst in 2013-2014.

McGinley’s most significant moment as a golfer came when he was the team captain for the International Team at the 2014 Ryder Cup. He has also been a part of the winning team in the competition multiple times. After Paul Azinger and NBC parted ways in 2023, McGinley became the lead analyst at the Golf Channel and NBC Sports.

Chamblee is famous for his controversial opinions since his Golf Channel days in 2003. From accusing Tiger Woods of rule violations to calling Phil Mickelson’s involvement with LIV Golf “sad“, it will be interesting to hear his takes as the drama begins at The Royal Montreal Golf Club.

Lastly, Cara Banks and Damon Hack will be the hosts, bringing structure to the hectic and intensive coverage of the Presidents Cup. Banks joined NBC in 2015 as the host of Morning Drive, a news and lifestyle program. She has since become an interviewer and reporter for NBC Sports’ PGA Tour broadcast.
