Who has qualified for lucrative new event in Saudi Arabia?

Professional snooker will cover new ground next week when the first major event in the sport’s history is staged in Saudi Arabia. The World Masters of Snooker event is scheduled between March 4-6 at Boulevard City in Riyadh with world champion Luca Brecel, world No. 1 Ronnie O’Sullivan and German Masters champion Judd Trump among the major attractions in the eight-player field.No Filter: Behind the scenes as O’Sullivan wins record eighth Masters crown

Mark Williams and Ali Carter will have the honour of playing in the opening matches of the first professional snooker event to be staged in Saudi Arabia next week.

The World Masters of Snooker event is scheduled between March 4-6 at Boulevard City in Riyadh with Williams and Carter taking on two local wildcards on Monday evening.

Four quarter-finals will be staged on Tuesday with the semi-finals and final taking place on Wednesday.

The inaugural Saudi Arabia Snooker Masters will take place in Riyadh from August 31 to September 7.

It will be a world ranking event open to all 128 WST players, as well as six local wildcards from the Saudi Arabian Billiard & Snooker Federation.
