Who is Josber Perez? Record, bio of boxer and Kazuto Ioka opponent

(Ed Mulholland/Matchroom Boxing)

In a stacked super flyweight division, various champions look to fight one another. Josber Perez is ready to crash the party and join the fun. He faces Kazuto Ioka for the WBA title on December 31 in Japan.

The fight, on ABEMA TV in Japan, will be Ioka’s ninth straight defense of the title, and he looks to successfully defend it for the seventh time (he fought Joshua Franco to a draw in 2022). It is Perez’s second attempt at gold, going from flyweight to super flyweight.

Odds have Ioka as the favorite in this fight. If he wins, he could face WBC champion Juan Francisco Estrada. However, if Perez has anything to say about it, he will be on the other side of the ring against Estrada.
