Who Is Parker Whitfield? An Explainer Of Bronny James’ Girlfriend

Bronny James‘ rookie year has already been quite exciting.

He completed his freshman year at the University of Southern California before becoming the 55th pick in the second round of the NBA draft, landing a spot on the Los Angeles Lakers.

He joined his father, LeBron James, and together made history as the first father-son duo to play together in NBA history. However, Bronny gets to share these monumental moments, not only with his family, but with a special lady—his girlfriend, Parker Whitfield.

The adorable pair have a lot more in common than one may think. So, here’s everything we know about Parker Whitfield and her budding relationship with the basketball star.

Her parents are a Hollywood IT couple

Similar to Bronny, Parker’s parents are also two notable figures.

Her mom is actress-director Salli Richardson-Whitfield, who is best known for roles in A Low Down Dirty Shame, I Am Legend, Eureka, Stitchers, and for directing five episodes of Winning Time: The Rise of the Lakers Dynasty.

Her father is actor Dondré Whitfield, best known for roles in Two Can Play That Game, All My Children, Queen Sugar, and Girlfriends.

The loving pair have been married since Sept. 2002 and also have a son, Dre.

She met Bronny in high school

While attending Sierra Canyon School, Bronny played basketball while Parker played softball. She played all four years of high school with her most consistent position being second base. She also rotated between pitcher, right field, and outfield.

She attended homecoming and prom with Antoine Fuqua and Lela Rochon’s son

According to her mother, Parker attended homecoming and prom in her senior year with Brando Fuqua, son of award-winning filmmaker Antoine Fuqua and legendary actress Lela Rochon.

“[Parker], you are your moms sunshine. If this is homecoming we have a lot to do to make Prom better. Thank you [Brando] for always treating my baby like a Queen. #goodhometrainingmatters,” Salli gushed in Oct. 2022. For prom, she thanked his parents for “raising such a magnificent young man.”

She’s a student at Spelman

In January 2023, her father announced that she’d be attending Spelman that fall following graduation.

“One day, Parker asked me, ‘Dad what do you think I should do about my schools?’ I told her that all of her choices would offer her a great EDUCATION! I then told her to choose a great EXPERIENCE!!! We are so excited that Parker has chosen @spelman_college as her ‘great experience!’” wrote the All My Children actor.

He added, “It will undoubtedly offer her a top tier education, sisterhood and citizenship. Congratulations Parker. Your path to becoming a greater woman starts in the fall.” She’s now in her sophomore year. Her major has not been publicized.

Her mother was just as proud when they dropped Parker off at college. “And just like that our baby is off to college. Wasn’t I just changing her diapers last week. Time has gone by way too fast,” she captioned a family selfie. “I know she’s ready but I’m going to miss my baby. [Dondré] we did good my love.”

She turned 20 back in September

Parker is a Virgo and turned 20 back in early September. She celebrated her birthday surrounded by her family, a close friend, and of course, her boyfriend.

“Wow!!!!! My baby turned 20 years old today. I’m still in disbelief and shock. This is my baby!!!!! Parker you have become an intelligent, kind hearted and thoughtful young woman!!!! I’m proud of who you are and who you continue to become!!!!! Daddy loves you so much!!! You have become everything that your mom and I intentioned you to be!” wrote her proud papa.

Her mother expressed in a separate post, “To say that I’m proud of you doesn’t explain how much I respect the person that you are growing up to be. I could not ask for a better daughter. I love you dearly.”

They went public at the Paris Olympics

Bronny and Parker went public with their relationship in August 2024 at the 2024 Olympics in Paris. They sat courtside to watch LeBron play in a Team USA men’s basketball game against Team Serbia.

The new couple joined his brother, Bryce, and his girlfriend Sadie Johnson. Later that day, Bronny and Parker were seen holding hands walking the Parisian streets.

Despite her Instagram being private, TMZ caught Bronny leaving a cute comment under his lady’s photo around the same time. “She’s so pretty,” it read. Parker also posted Bronny for National Boyfriend Day earlier this month.

Outside of these instances, the couple appears to be keeping further details about their relationship private, but have confirmed that they’re off the market.
