Who is the biggest-spending club in Europe in the 2024 summer transfer window?

There have been four big-ticket signings for Julen Lopetegui, with Max Kilman the most expensive. Wes Foderingham is the best though.
9) Tottenham – £125.4m
After signing a whole load of 18 year olds, Tottenham bought Dominic Solanke for one of the biggest fees paid by any team so far this summer. Wilson Odobert then joined from Burnley, which came completely out of the blue. The best kind of transfers, those.

8) Napoli – £125.9m
Romelu Lukaku’s tour of Italy takes him to Naples. He is there permanently and not on loan so let’s see how that goes. Lukaku is now team-mates with fellow summer additions Billy Gilmour, Scott McTominay, Alessandro Buongiorno, Rafa Marin, and David Neres. Antonio Conte is not messing around.
7) Juventus – £137.1m
Talk about rebooting your midfield; over £125m of that money has been spent on Teun Koopmeiners, Douglas Luiz and Kephren Thuram.
6) PSG – £143.1m
The £50m signing of Joao Neves from Benfica looks to be a brilliant one. Interestingly, PSG’s replacement for Kylian Mbappe is 19-year-old Desire Doue. We thought they’d bring in two or three elite players to fill that void.
5) Aston Villa – £148.4m
What better way to prepare for a first season of Champions League football than by signing a Champions League runner-up? Ian Maatsen had an abysmal 10 minutes in that final defeat to Real Madrid but is a fine addition, alongside PSR fans Samuel Iling-Junior, Enzo Barrenechea and Lewis Dobbin and the returning pair of Cameron Archer and Jaden Philogene.

4) Atletico Madrid – £155.8m
Bridging the gap between themselves and the El Clasico pair is a task Atletico have always relished, and they have signed Julian Alvarez from Man City and Conor Gallagher from Chelsea in their latest attempts to do so. They join Alexander Sorloth – another Norwegian unit – and Robin Le Normand in the Spanish capital.
3) Man Utd – £180.7m
Leny Yoro, Joshua Zirkzee Noussair Mazraoui, Matthijs de Ligt, and Manuel Ugarte. Not a bad first Ineos summer, that.
2) Brighton – £194.7m
Brighton have finally realised they can spend the money they have made from some silly sales over the years. Matt O’Riley is one of the biggest signings in the club’s history but he lasted minutes on his debut after being absolutely crunched. He requires ankle surgery. Ouch. Ferdi Kadioglu is a wonderful signing.
1) Chelsea – £219.9m
What a club. Another £220m spent this summer yet they are still without an out-and-out striker. They showed restraint in their pursuit of Victor Osimhen and let Ivan Toney go to Al Ahly. We are not too sure what the bloody hell they’re playing at.
