When it comes to food, Sarah Jessica Parker doesnât want her daughters to follow in her footsteps.
The actress has been intentional about encouraging twins Tabitha and Marion to have a âbetter relationshipâ with eating than she did growing up, she told âRuthieâs Table 4â podcast listeners Monday.
âWhen I had girls, I didnât want them to have a relationship with food that was antagonistic and to see it as an enemy,â the âSex and the Cityâ alum, 59, explained, noting that her own childhood home did not allow âsugar ⊠or chocolate or cookies.â

Because of that restriction, Parker and her siblings purchased âa load of cakes and cookiesâ upon moving out.
âI didnât want that for them,â the âAnd Just Like Thatâ star said of her 14-year-olds. âIn our house, we have cookies, we have cake, we have everything. And as a result, you have a better relationship.
âMy daughters will have the figures they have, and hopefully theyâll be healthy,â she continued. âTheyâre athletes and they enjoy food and have different palates. I hope that they can maintain their affection for the experience and their delight in taste.â

âMatthew cooks. We both cook every single day,â Parker said. âWe eat dinner as a family every night. And always have dinner every Sunday night. Itâs just what we do.â
She and Broderick, 62, have been married since May 1997 and started their family five years later when Parker gave birth to their son.
