Will Maduka Okoye leave Udinese? Super Eagles goalie makes transfer admission amid Bournemouth, AC Milan links

Super Eagles goalkeeper Maduka Okoye has stated that his heart is presently at Udinese and he is not thinking about leaving the club despite talks of interest from AC Milan and Bournemouth, Soccernet.ng reports.

Okoye has enjoyed a brilliant comeback after it his career suffered a bad dip two years ago, when he was at Watford. The Super Eagles star has now become an important member of the team at Udinese.

This season, Okoye has featured for Udinese 24 times and has conceded 37 goals and kept four clean sheet.

The 25-year-old shot-stopper goalie has a save rate of 64% and makes an average 2.7 saves per game.

Okoye’s performances have drawn interest from clubs like AC Milan and Bournemouth. And it appears that they might bid for him in the summer.

The Super Eagles star was recently involved in a meet and greet with Udinese fans, and he gave a rather coy reply when asked about the possibility of him leaving the club in the summer.

“I am one of you, I am a black and white player, and I am happy to be here,” Okoye said.

“It is difficult to think about the future because I am only focused on Udinese, the club and the fans have entered my heart”.

Moving to AC Milan or a Premier League club would be a step-up for Maduka Okoye. But he would have to still work on his game if he does not want it to be a repeat of his Watford stint.

Okoye already showed that he can be great at manning the sticks from his time at Sparta Rotterdam. So definitely, there is a player there. He just has to get his head into the game and start churning out the performances.

If he gets assurance of first-team football, Okoye should grab it with both hands.
