After three regional Majors this season, the path for the 33 best Fortnite Championship Series (FNCS) teams leads to the LDLC Arena venue in Lyon-DĆ©cines, France.Ā Thereās a chance to make esports history for two players competing at theĀ FNCS Global Championship 2025. Thatās right: last yearās champions, Peter āPeterbotā Kata and Miguel āPolloā Moreno, an unstoppable duo, are both competing this year but on different rosters.
Since the inception of the world championship, no player has ever won the event twice, with MichaÅ āKamiā KamiÅski and Iwo āSettyā ZajÄ c narrowly missing the mark, winning the FNCS Invitational 2022 and earning a 2nd-place finish at FNCS 2023 Global Championship.
At the FNCS Global Championship, the two contenders for back-to-back world champions are playing in different trios squads, aptly called Team Peterbot and Team Pollo; but what are their chances of lifting the trophy in France?
The FNCS Global Championship 2025 favorites
Itās the first time that a FNCS season features trios instead of duos, which resulted in many iconic duos breaking up and creating or joining new teams. The change has led to an exciting season, yet familiar frontrunners have emerged.
Guess who the favorites are to lift the FNCS Global Championship 2025 trophy? Itās Team Peterbot, closely followed by Team Pollo, according to most fans, analysts, and the odds.Ā

Peterbot is widely considered one of the best in the world, and he is joined by Ritual and Cold, who won the EWC 2024 as duos, with Ritual picking up the MVP award. In the 2025 season, the team placed 2nd at Major 1 and won both Major 2 and 3, showcasing their dominance as the best in the business.

If it werenāt for Team Peterbot, Team Pollo would be on top of the world. They won Major 1 in NA Central and earned a 2nd-place finish at Major 3. With Canadian legend Acorn, young powerhouse Ajerss, and the 2024 world champion, Pollo, they might very well lift the trophy on September 7.

Both teams are from the highly contested NA Central region, and theyāve clashed multiple times across all three Majors this year, with Team Peterbot narrowly coming out on top.
Other top dogs at the FNCS Global Championship 2025 who might just spoil it for the favorites are Team Veno, Team Queasy, Team Pixie, and Team PabloWingo. Last but not least, thereās the teams led by 2022 champions, Kami and Setty. While they arenāt the favorites, both these Polish legends are looking to become the first repeat world champions.
We all know that in front of the biggest crowds with a massive prize pool, in this case $2,001,000, and the glory of becoming a world champion on the line, favorites can fall flat, and underdogs can rise through the ranks.Ā
As an esports, battle royales do have a bit of luck involved, but these top pros make it look easy to perform consistently. To make the Grand Final as easy as possible, six games are played per day (September 6 and 7), for a total of 12 games.Ā
When the dust settles over the Fortnite island, the team with the highest overall score, based on placement and eliminations in all 12 games, is the new world champion.
