WTCS Grand Final start list as British Olympic triathlon king Alex Yee bids to end the wait for his first world title

Alex Yee is just one race away from crowning an incredible 2024 with the first world title of his triathlon career at the WTCS Grand Final later this month.

The 26-year-old Londoner has been absolutely spectacular this year, with the pinnacle being that epic surge to Olympic Games gold at Paris 2024.

Yee has won all three of his WTCS points-scoring starts this year (Cagliari and Weihai plus that golden moment in Paris), most recently that astonishing performance in China which saw him rout a high-class field by a margin of 46 seconds.

Now Alex is one step away from claiming the prize which still eludes him – that of world champion. He’s been here before remember and fallen at the final hurdle, most recently in Pontevedra last year as France’s Dorian Coninx ran out a surprise winner.

Yee holds a commanding lead over Paris bronze medallist LĂ©o Bergere with great rival and Olympic silver medallist Hayden Wilde close behind the Frenchman. Aussie star Matt Hauser is currently sitting fourth.

The big race will take place in Torremolinos-Andalucia on Sunday October 20, and Yee will face a stellar start list in his bid for glory.
