Raw Reportedly Remaining 3-Hour Show on Netflix

Despite WWE announcing Monday that Raw will go from three hours down to two from October through December, the show will reportedly return to its three-hour format in January.

According to Dave Meltzer’s Wrestling Observer Radio (h/t Subhojeet Mukherjee of Ringside News), it has been “confirmed” that Raw will be a three-hour show when it makes the move from USA Network to Netflix starting on Jan. 6.

During Monday night’s episode of Raw, WWE announced that starting on Oct. 7, Raw will be reduced to two hours, and it will remain as such until its USA Network finale on Dec. 30.

Per Meltzer (h/t Mukherjee), USA Network made the call to drop the third hour rather than WWE, and it isn’t entirely clear why. Meltzer did note that getting rid of the third hour will likely boost the overall rating, however.

WWE permanently moved Raw from two hours to three in 2012, which is a decision that was long a point of contention among fans.

It came during a time when the product wasn’t exactly at its best, and it made for some difficult-to-watch shows over the next decade-plus.

However, since Triple H took over for Vince McMahon as the head of creative on a permanent basis back in January, Raw and SmackDown have both been far more entertaining than they were in past years.

As a result, Raw moving to two hours for a couple of months isn’t necessarily being celebrated since it will be difficult for WWE to pack all of the talent it has into that tight of a window.

The two-hour format is only temporary, though, as Raw will reportedly be back to three hours on Netflix, and it stands to reason that the streaming platform could provide even more creative freedom as well.

Breakker vs. Jey Uso Reportedly Not Scheduled for Bad Blood

Jey Uso became the No. 1 contender for Bron Breakker’s Intercontinental Championship on Monday, but their match reportedly isn’t scheduled to happen when most would expect.

According to Meltzer (h/t Mukherjee), Breakker vs. Uso is not set to occur at next month’s Bad Blood premium live event. Instead, it will be featured on an upcoming episode of Raw.

Meltzer noted that WWE prefers to have five-match cards at premium live events, and it appears as though all five match slots at Bad Blood are already spoken for.

Over the past couple of weeks, Triple Threat matches were held on Raw with the winners moving on to a Fatal 4-Way to determine Breakker’s next opponent.

On Monday night’s episode of Raw, Uso faced Braun Strowman, Ilja Dragunov and Pete Dunne, and it was Uso who prevailed and earned yet another opportunity to become a singles champion for the first time.

Uso and Breakker had some run-ins backstage over the past couple of weeks, and it happened again to close Raw, as they came face to face in the middle of the ring.

Breakker has been a dominant force on Raw in recent months, while Uso has strongly established himself as one of the most popular Superstars in WWE, making for an intriguing matchup.

It is difficult to envision Breakker losing the IC title already, but Uso doesn’t figure to lose cleanly, as the Judgment Day could potentially get involved given that he has recently been helping Damian Priest and Rhea Ripley in their feud with the group.

Logan Paul Responds to Kevin Nash’s Criticism

Former United States champion Logan Paul responded Monday to recent comments made by WWE Hall of Famer Kevin Nash.

During an episode of his Kliq This podcast (h/t Mukherjee), Nash was asked about Paul interviewing Hulk Hogan and not knowing the meaning of the terms “work” or “shoot” in wrestling.

Nash took aim at Paul, criticizing him for not fully devoting himself to the world of pro wrestling and for making big money despite working a part-time schedule:

“He’s not one of the boys. Where would he learn that s–t at? Where’s he f–king going up and down the road, f–king talking about our f–king jargon? In the building? Everybody’s in their own f–king motor coach. There’s no f–king interaction. There’s no socialization. You don’t become one of the boys just because you’re around them. That motherf–ker, from what I heard, he’s making like 5 million bucks for a limited f–king [schedule], and those other motherf–kers are out there making house shows, f–k you. I don’t give a f–k how many people are following you.”

Paul caught wind of Nash’s comments and issued a response in a video posted on X (h/t Nikunj Walia of Ringside News) in which he claimed that he is already among the best wrestlers in WWE despite his limited knowledge of the business:

“I’m not as versed in the WWE and wrestling as I should be, as my peers are, but then how am I so much better than all of them? I don’t have the answer to all of these questions. I don’t know how I can be the best in WWE, at least one of the best, I’m surely a top fiver, and I don’t even do it full time. Imagine if I did learn a little bit. Imagine if I devoted, became one of the boys [laughs]. Learned the difference between a shoot and a work. Would that make me a champion? F–k me? F–k you. You’re one of the old guys who is bitter that I am better at your job than you ever were. That makes you pathetic. This will be my sport and I will continue to make guys like you eat your words when I devote a little bit of time to it. F–k me? F–k you.”

Given that Paul is a major heel in WWE, it is likely that at least part of his response is him playing into his character.

With that said, there is no denying he has caught on to pro wrestling and become a great in-ring performer much more quickly than almost anyone in recent memory.

Paul was already a massive star on social media and YouTube prior to joining WWE, but when considering how much of a natural he seems to be in the pro wrestling business, it is understandable why WWE has made a commitment to him moving forward.

Paul hasn’t gotten to his current position in a typical way, and while that may not sit well with legends such as Nash, it is hard to argue with the success Paul has had thus far.
