Cody Rhodes and Seth Rollins vs. The Rock and Roman Reigns2 of 4

Will Cody Rhodes challenge Roman Reigns without The Bloodline’s interference or will he have to overcome the blatant and legal presence of The Tribal Chief’s family if he hopes to finish his story?

That question will be answered in WrestleMania’s biggest tag team match.

On one hand, the idea of leaving Reigns to compete on his own, without the assistance of his family, feels like an apropos to write this chapter of his story. Can he defeat Rhodes without Solo Sikoa or Jimmy Uso providing a distraction that results in that outcome or will he be exposed, losing his Undisputed WWE Universal Championship to a better wrestler?

On the other hand, Rhodes facing the prospect of overcoming The Bloodline, presumably with the assistance of the troop of Bloodline rivals, would prove him to be someone who can overcome the odds and win the top prize in the industry.

Given the history of WWE and its legacy of strong babyfaces who succeed despite the hurdles placed in front of them, it feels like the main event of Saturday’s show will see The Bloodline triumph and set The American Nightmare up with the unenviable task of overcoming rules specifically designed to put him at a disadvantage.

Prediction: Reigns and Rock

World Heavyweight Championship Match: Seth Rollins vs. Drew McIntyre3 of 4

What toll will the tag team match from Saturday have on Rollins when he squares off with Drew McIntyre for the World Heavyweight Championship on Sunday?

Following an explosive three-way promo on Monday Night Raw a week ago, what role will CM Punk play when he joins commentary for the match?

Those two questions hang over the contest and add intrigue to what feels like a fairly obvious victory for McIntyre, who is among the hottest stars in the company.

His ability to troll is next level and his motivations are justified. He is driven by the desire to win a title at WrestleMania in front of actual fans, an opportunity that was taken from him by the COVID-19 pandemic back in 2020.

Add to that the fact that he feels disrespected and overshadowed by Rollins’ insistence on competing in the tag team match the night before and you have a guy who will do all that he can to take the title away from The Visionary and achieve the WrestleMania moment that has eluded him.

And he will.

McIntyre is too hot right now not to win the title and hold onto it until Punk returns from injury and can resume a rivalry with The Scottish Warrior that is fixing to be one of the most intensely personal on the roster following the heel’s incessant trolling of the Straight Edge Superstar.

Prediction: McIntyre win the title

Undisputed WWE Universal Championship: Cody Rhodes vs. Roman Reigns4 of 4

After last year’s stunning outcome, in which Reigns defeated Rhodes and prevented the consummate babyface from finishing his story and celebrating to close out the show, WWE fans rallied behind The American Nightmare and ensured he would not have his opportunity taken from him.

Even if it was The Rock who returned and appeared poised to challenge Reigns on the grand stage.

The #WeWantCody movement forced WWE’s hand and made sure the company pivoted creatively, leading to The Rock’s heel turn, the massive tag team match that takes place on night one of the show, and the first WrestleMania main event rematch since The Final Boss battled John Cena in consecutive years in 2012 and ’13.

While WWE could keep the title on Reigns and stun the wrestling world a second year in a row, such an outcome would do irreparable damage to Rhodes and further infuriate fans who have patiently followed him on this journey to finishing his story.

As we have seen throughout this build to the event, WWE has listened to its fans to this point and that should not change.

Rhodes wins here, ends the epic three-year run of The Tribal Chief, and finally gets his pyro-filled celebration to close out the broadcast.

Prediction: Rhodes wins the title
