Xbox’s ‘MT Framework’ Issue A Hot Topic Again Following SNK Vs. Capcom: SVC Chaos Reveal
There’s lots of confusion right now
In recent weeks, Capcom has announced multiple re-releases that are straight up skipping Xbox consoles, with the company’s ‘MT Framework’ tech reportedly the reason behind some of these Xbox omissions. Last week’s announcement of SNK Vs. Capcom: SVC Chaos has brought the topic up once again, with multiple sources addressing the situation this week.
Following up on a previous report from June, Windows Central’s Jez Corden has again mentioned the tech issue on a recent episode of The Xbox Two podcast. Corden says that “Microsoft is actively working on it with Capcom” and that the Japanese developer skipping Xbox over a tech issue “is not a great look” for Microsoft.
However, in a small slice of Xbox rumour-mill drama, XboxEra has chimed in as well. The outlet’s Shpeshal Nick claims that he’s also asked a Microsoft source about this, and that their response leads him to believe that the real reason behind the Capcom omissions is that “these games don’t sell” on Xbox.
As usual with this sort of thing, it’s best to take it all with a big old pinch of salt, with a lot of this sounding like speculation as much as anything else. All we really know for sure is that something is preventing certain Capcom games from hitting Xbox – with the company seemingly picking and choosing what launches on Xbox and what doesn’t.
