Yikes! Quavo Must Cut A Six-Figure Check For Incident With Former Hotel Employee In 2018 (VIDEO)

Quavo seemingly closed the chapter of an assault lawsuit on Thursday (Sept. 26) in Las Vegas. A jury ruled that he must pay nearly $700,000 for physically assaulting a former hotel employee in 2018.

Quavo Must Pay THIS Much In Assault Lawsuit
The rapper, whose legal name is Quavious Marshall, must cut a six-figure check for slapping the hotel worker. According to 8NewsNow, Antonio Henry worked at Encore Hotel & Casino as a valet when he encountered Quavo and his crew. As a result of the incident, Henry claimed he suffered physical and emotional injuries. He sought compensatory and punitive damages in the amount of $800,000.

Meanwhile, Quavo’s attorney argued that the former hotel employee wanted to cash in on a “hip hop lotto ticket.” In his closing arguments, Attorney William Briggs II said the asking amount was “a massive award.” Additionally, Briggs asserted that Antonio didn’t prove he was injured “by that single slap.”

But Henry’s lawyer disagreed. He clapped back that the slap had changed his client from a happy, healthy man to one who felt “fundamentally changed.”  The trial lasted a few weeks. Then, on Thursday, the jury found Quavo liable for damages, just not at the asking price. According to 8NewsNow, he must pay Antonio Henry $682,000.

Quavo has yet to publicly comment on the verdict, but this is the second legal update on the rapper in the last week.

A man named Lamount London recently sued the former Migos artist for allegedly stealing his song, ‘Bubble Gum.’ London claimed he recorded a song by the same title in 2015 and gave Quavo a copy in person in New Orleans in February 2016. Two years later, the Atlanta artist released his solo debut album ‘Quavo Huncho’ in 2018, with track number 18 being ‘Bubble Gum.’
