You Can Now Buy $16 Eras Tour Tickets—With a Catch

As we anticipate the final (!) run of shows for Taylor Swift’s Eras Tour, a new batch of tickets has just been released, and for a shockingly low price. But there’s a catch. Actually, two.

For her Vancouver shows in December, Swift is offering $16 tickets for the seats behind the stage that would otherwise have gone unoccupied. That is, seats that offer no view of the stage.

It’s a move that shows just how high the demand is for anything Eras Tour–related, and makes use of the fact that concerts are about much more than watching the concert. Being with other Swifties, listening to the show live, and being in the same space as the surprise songs are all experiences you can have from behind the stage.

Plus, for the rest of your life, you can tell people you “were there” on the last stops of the Eras Tour, without breaking the bank. It’s the next best thing to a regular ticket, even if it is a bit awkward to imagine Swift performing her heart out knowing there are people behind her who can’t see her.

But the other catch is that, disappointingly, these tickets were snatched up by bots and scalpers shortly after going on sale, and are now only available at a ridiculous markup. To quote Swift, “This is why we can’t have nice things.”

From the reactions compiled on the Daily Mail, it looks like some fans did snag seats at a rock-bottom price, but many more were booted from the online queue before they even got a chance.

If you’re still desperate to see the tour before it ends, you can always try your luck refreshing resale sites the night before…assuming you’re already in Vancouver or you can get there easily.

Then there’s begging, borrowing, stealing, and, of course, magic.
