Halo: Campaign Evolved â the remake of Halo: Combat Evolved coming to PS5 next year â will be the focus of dev Halo Studios moving forwards.
As part of a community update, the team has confirmed that itâs ceasing content updates for the existing Xbox and PC exclusive Halo Infinite, which was originally intended to be supported for over a decade. It managed just four years.
âWith multiple Halo titles in development, weâll need our whole team’s combined focus to deliver new experiences with the same passion and care that our community has given us,â a spokesperson for the studio said.

To be fair, the content drop looks fairly sizeable, and the studio isnât abandoning the outing entirely â itâll still be maintained and the servers will remain online, for example.
But the team says it needs to now focus on whatâs next:
âAs the Halo Studios team shifts focus to in-development projects such as Halo: Campaign Evolved, weâd like to thank our Halo Infinite players for years of steadfast support.â
As thereâs no PvP multiplayer in Halo: Campaign Evolved, there have been rumours that Halo Studios is planning a standalone free-to-play client, which will bring the seriesâ staple competitive suite to the PS5.
We know the future of Master Chief et al is now multiplatform, with PS5 playing a big part of that, so itâs going to be interesting to see what else it has in store beyond its aforementioned remake.
