Xbox Has A New $4.99 Horror Game Called Dollmare, And It’s Apparently Pretty Good

“Don’t get fired and stay alive.”

Over the past year, we’ve seen the Poppy Playtime horror series making a successful transition to Xbox, with those games sometimes appearing in the “Top Paid” Xbox charts, so it’s no surprise to see similar titles making the jump.

Dollmare seems to be a very similar horror game to Poppy Playtime – a short (maximum of four hours) but enjoyable experience in which you play as an employee at a doll factory who needs to avoid getting fired and stay alive.

And yes, you can pick this one up for just ÂŁ4.19 / $4.99 on Xbox One, Xbox Series X and Xbox Series S!

Dollmare (Xbox Store)

“You were desperate for money to pay the rent, so you’ve accepted a job offer at a doll factory. What seemed like a way to make an easy buck, turned out to be something much more sinister.”

“Carefully inspect each doll for strange defects and eerie behaviors. Spot every anomaly, from subtle flaws to unsettling movements, and ensure only the ‘safe’ dolls make it through.”

Looking at the reviews on Steam for Dollmare, which are “Very Positive” on average, a lot of people point out that it’s more creepy than full-on scary, and even the description somewhat alludes to this as well:

“You will not be chased by a monster. Nothing will scream or jump into your face. You don’t have to fight anyone or strive for resources. At the same time, this is not a chill game. It’s still a horror game. You will feel scared, unease and oppressive feelings, like you’re being watched or something will happen to you. Something definitely will. This game was made by developers who are too scared to play other horror games, so they made this.”

So, if you’re interested in this and you can spare $4.99, Dollmare is now officially available as of today on the Xbox Store. We’ll probably give it a try just for curiosity’s sake – Poppy’s Playtime ended up being pretty fun for only $5!

We’ll leave you with some screenshots for the game down below.
